Abstract

A rim manufactured to include a balancing region, is mounted on a balancing machine. Magnitude and location of any imbalance is determined. Corrective depression(s) are made in the balancing region, their number and dimensions leaving a desired level of residual imbalance. The tire is classified in terms of its own imbalance, in respect of magnitude and location. The tire is fitted to the rim. Fitting is carried out to balance-out the rim residual. An Independent claim is included for equipment carrying out the process.
