Abstract

The invention relates to a device for testing the impermeability of a sealing assembly (1) of pipes or shaft constructions, characterised by the following: the sealing ring (8) has a first and second sealing zone (12, 13), both sealing zones surrounding an annular test chamber (14), the base area (9) of the sealing ring (8) is provided with an annular groove (16), completely filled with a semi-permeable and/or compressible material (17), several bores (15) are located at intervals around the circumference of the ring, said bores extending from the contact area (10) of the sealing ring (8) to the annular groove (16), thus linking the test chamber (14) and at least one connecting conduit (18) is connected to a container, the latter in turn being filled with a test medium. Said test medium is used to build up a pressure in the bores (15), the annular groove (16) and the test chamber (14). The conduit is also connected to a valve and a measuring device, which is used to record deviations from the desired value for the sealing capability.
