Abstract
Catalysts for the polymerization of C2-C20-olefins are preactivated by a process in which the catalyst is first mixed with the respective monomer, then, if appropriate, the respective cocatalyst is added and the resulting mixture is subsequently subjected to preactivation in a tube reactor and the catalyst which has been preactivated in this way is finally introduced into the actual polymerization reactor, wherein the mixture of catalyst, any cocatalyst and monomer is passed through the tube reactor in turbulent plug flow at a Reynolds number of at least 2 300.
