Abstract

The invention concerns the three-dimensional scanning of interior surfaces or cavities of limited dimensions or with restricted accessibility by providing a probe-shaped non-contact adpated to perform a scan 360 DEG around the axis of the probe and a method for scanning. The invention furthermore relates to the creation of high precision three-dimensional replicas of real objects using 3-D scan data obtainable with the scanner according to the invention. Furthermore, the invention relates to a specific embodiment for scanning the human ear and ear canal.
