Abstract
In a method for a transmission of data packets from a transmitter to a receiver, the receiver performs a first check whether a data packet is correctly received and sends a request for a retransmission of erroneous data packets to the transmitter. The receiver performs a second check whether a received data packet (DP) is a retransmission. The result of the second check is evaluated to adapt an operating parameter of the receiver or determine an operating parameter and especially to determine the sending of further requests (STATUS') for a retransmission. A receiver and a program unit embodying the invention are also described. <IMAGE>
