Abstract

A fitting for the use as a means for the gripping of one or more objects (5), said fitting comprising a substantially helical coil with at least two windings formed by a wound member (1) of a resilient material with a shape memory, such as rubber. The helical coil has a natural shape in which the substantially helical coil comprises a spacing (d) between adjacent windings.
