Abstract

The invention relates to a method for modifying the (inner) surfaces of an MMMS-porous adsorbent or of a mixture of a number of MMMS-porous adsorbents having a pore diameter </= 200 nm. The absorbent(s) is/are brought into contact with a fluid which is placed under supercritical conditions and which dissolves one or more modifying agents and/or contains the same in a dispersed manner. The modifying agent is dissolved and/or dispersed in the fluid either before or while the absorbent(s) is/are brought into contact with the fluid.
