PATENTS ACT 1990 COMPLETE SPECIFICATION INNOVATION PATENT FAN COIL UNIT HAVING SEGMENTED BLOWER ASSEMBLY The following statement is a full description of this invention, including the best method of performing it known to me: FAN COIL UNIT HAVING SEGMENTED BLOWER ASSEMBLY The invention relates to a fan coil unit having a multi segmented blower assembly. It is an object of the invention to provide a blower assembly for a fan coil unit including one or more middle supports between blowers.
A conventional blower assembly A for split air conditioner is shown in Figure 9 wherein a blower B is rotatably mounted between a shaft Cl of motor C and a bearing D. Both motor C and bearing D are threadedly secured to the casing of blower assembly A.
Further, blower B consists of a plurality of integrally formed blower units. It is seen that blower B is supported by one shaft C1 and bearing D. Hence, several disadvantages are found in the practical use. For example, the gravitational center of blower B may be lowered when blower B is prolonged for increasing draft. This further increases vibration during the operation of blower assembly A. Furthermore, the useful life of bearing D and motor C is shortened. Moreover, abnormal expansion and contraction of blower B are occurred. This may cause the blades of blower B to be rotated in an off-center manner, resulting in an increase of noise. Thus improvements exist.
It is therefore an object of the present invention to provide a blower assembly for a split air conditioner comprising a casing including a bearing trough in one end, a pair of rubber sleeve troughs in the other opposite end, a plurality of central hollow posts each having a threaded hole; and a blower including a plurality of blower units each having a shaft in one end and a hole in the other opposite end, at least one bearing seat, a plurality of bearings, at lest one motor, and a plurality of rubber sleeves mounted on the motor and together rested on the rubber sleeve troughs, a plurality of plates for threadedly securing the rubber sleeves. By utilizing this, a variety of advantages are obtained such as an increase of draft, more stable operation, no abnormal expansion and contraction of the blower assembly, and noise reduction.
The above and other objects, features and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detail description taken with the accompanying drawings.
The present invention will now be described, by way of example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:- Figure 1 is an exploded view of a blower assembly; Figures 2 3 are partial perspective views; Figure 4 is a partial perspective view showing another embodiment of the blower assembly; Figures 5 6 are partial exploded views showing two further embodiments of the blower assembly; Figures 7 8 are perspective views of the fan coil unit as shown in Figures 1 and 4 respectively; and Figure 9 is a schematic perspective view of a conventional blower assembly for split air conditioner.
As shown in Figures 1 to 3, a blower assembly for a fan coil unit is to be mounted in a setup and comprises a casing 10 including a trough 11 in one end, another trough 12 in the other end, one or more posts 13 in the middle portion and each having a screw hole 131. A blower 20 includes a motor 24 having a shaft 242 rotatably mounted on the casing 10 with two rubber rings 241 which are supported on the troughs 12 and secured to the casing 10 with plates 25 and fasteners 26 that are threaded with the screw holes 251 of the plates 25. A seat 22 includes one or more holes 224 for receiving fasteners 26 threaded to the posts 13, and a trough 221 for embedding a bearing 23, a cavity 222 (Figure 5) for fixing one end of a plate 251. A fastener 26 may be threaded through a screw hole 251 of the plate 25 and threaded with a stud 223. A blower unit 21 has an end hole 211 for receiving the shaft 242 of the motor 24, and a shelf 212 extended from the other end for engaging through the hole of bearing 23 and into the hole 211 of the other blower unit 21 which has a shelf 212 supported by the other bearing 23 that is supported on the trough 11 of the casing The blower 20 may include two or more blower units 21 (Figures 4, 5) supported by one or more bearings 23 each and driven by one or more motors 24 (Figure A seat 22' may include one or more troughs 221' for receiving one or more bearings 23.
The fan coil unit may include two air openings (Figure 7) or three or more air openings (Figure 8) formed by two or more blower units 21 that are supported by one or more middle support seats 22.
