Abstract

The invention relates to rapid ignition powders for thermal fuses that are capable of a thermally controlled ignition of gas-producing mixtures far below the critical temperature, said mixtures usually being used in gas generators. The inventive powders have a weight loss of far less than 3 % when kept for more than 400 hours at warm storage temperatures of 110 DEG C and still remain completely functional. The inventive rapid ignition powders contain at least one fuel selected from the group including 2-thiohydantoin and 2-thiobarbituric acid, at least one oxidant, at least one stabilizer and optionally processing agents, auxiliary fuels and fillers.
