Abstract

The invention concerns an element (1) for insertion in data-processing equipment, the element having electronic circuits (4, 5, 6), a drive collar (9) which engages with a drive shaft when the element (1) is in the operating position, and a power generator with a rotor (8) and stator (12). To provide a power generator capable of powering the electronic circuits, the invention calls for the rotor (8) to be a magnet (11) which rotates with the drive collar (9) of the element (1), and for the stator (12) to include at least one coil (13, 22) located within the field generated by the rotating magnet (11).
