Abstract

A container (1) which contains a predetermined quantity of detergent composition is introduced into the drum of a washing machine. The container has compartments (1, 4) which separately receive the constituents (15, 16) of the composition which do not have satisfactory mutual compatibility, for example the constituents releasing oxygen or active chlorine, and the rest of the detergent composition. Each of said compartments (1, 4) has orifices (7, 11) to allow the diffusion of its content during the washing process. <IMAGE>
