Description

WO99/30912 PCT/GR98/00034 1 Ball-point pen or marker having an incorporated correction fluid dispenser. This invention refers to the field of stationery 5 items and, particularly, ink-pens or ball-point pens or markers, and is also related to such an item which, in addition to the writing material (ink, etc), is provided with a correction fluid dispenser having a suitable ball-point pen or brush for the application thereof on 10 the paper surface. Up-to-date technology in the field of correction materials is oriented to the construction of dispensers containing the correction fluid, provided on their cover with a brush enclosed inside the dispenser such that, 15 whenever there is a need to use it, the cover should be unscrewed and the fluid applied with the brush onto the text to be corrected. In this way, the user of the dispenser should always have this correction fluid dispenser within his reach, 20 in order to use it when needed. Correction fluid dispensers are not usually carried by the user, since this is not always possible due to the relevant size of the dispenser and the fact that it is not very easy for the user to carry it especially when not holding a 25 briefcase. This is why a correction fluid dispenser is not always available when needed.
WO99/30912 PCT/GR98/00034 2 The above technical problem gave rise to an attempt of finding a method and technical structure for a ball point pen, usually contained in an inside pocket of a jacket or a front pocket of a shirt, etc, which pen has 5 an incorporated small correction fluid dispenser, comprising the necessary brush on the cover thereof. A further object of the invention is to deal with the problems of durability, functionality and service life of the invention, accomplishing various 10 constructional solutions, described in detail below, wherein all the above mentioned and other advantages of the present invention will become apparent. The invention will be now understood by those skilled in the art, with reference to the accompanying 15 drawings, illustrative of some of the preffered embodiments of the invention, wherein: Fig. 1 is an outside view of the ball-point pen having an incorporated correction fluid dispenser. Fig. 2 is a bottom view of the ball-point pen 20 containing the ink-case. Fig. 3 is an outside view of the correction fluid dispenser without its cover. Fig. 4 is a view of the cover of the dispenser with the brush. 25 Referring to a selected typical example of an embodiment of the invention, a numbering of the main parts of the invention is effected with reference to the corresponding numbering thereof in the attached WO99/30912 PCT/GR98/00034 3 9. A thread inside the dispenser 4 and at the bottom thereof for being screwed on thread 7. This pen incorporating the correction fluid dispenser is easy to construct according to the 5 following variations. The first design is a whole-body pen having an incorporated dispenser 2 on its top part. In this case the bottom part 1 comprises the inlet outlet mechanism with the spring of the ink-case and the ball-point. In the case of an ink pen, this comprises 10 the ink-ampule and the pen. In the case of a marker, this comprises the marker-fluid. The second design is part 5 which constitutes a separate part from the dispenser 4, the dispenser 4 being screwed on thread 7 of the pen 5. 15 The pen may comprise a metallic or plastic hook for its fastening on a pocket. The assembly of part 4 (dispenser) onto part 5 of the pen can be effected with a suitable way other than screwing. 20 It should also be appreciated that the object of the invention is not limited by the aforementioned example. The accomplishment of the invention is possible by using different constructional ways, methods, components and mechanisms which still remain within the scope of the 25 present description. It should also be noted that the present description of the invention has been effected by referring to only some typical application examples.
WO99/30912 PCT/GR98/00034 4 drawings, wherein these are shown in a typical descriptive illustration, with no scale but simply according to the proportional relationship between the parts. 5 According to the preferred typical embodiment of the invention, the invented pen comprises the following main parts: 1. The part of the invented pen which contains the ball-point pen ink-case or the common ink tank or the 10 marker-fluid. 2. The part of the said pen which constitutes the correction fluid dispenser, having a cover 3 with a brush or ball. 3. The cover (lid) of the dispenser 2 or 4, which 15 closes the dispenser and has an incorporated thin brush 6 and which is screwed on the top part 2 of the pen. 4. A dispenser separate from part 1, which contains the correction fluid and is screwed by means of an inside thread 9 provided at the bottom part thereof. 20 5. The part of the pen or marker, separate from the dispenser 4, which is provided with the thread 7 on its top part, the dispenser 4 being screwed thereon. 6. A member having a thin brush on its end, assembled onto cover 3. 25 7. A thread on the top part of pen 5, the dispenser 4 being screwed thereon. 8. A thread on the top part of the dispenser 2 or 4, the cover 3 being screwed thereon.
WO99/30912 PCT/GR98/00034 5 Thus, any variation or modification as regards to the shape, configuration, arrangement, materials and components employed in the structure or assembly thereof, are considered to be within the objects and the intentions of the present description.
