Abstract
The invention concerns rewritable digital optical discs (2) comprising a layer sensitive to two stable states and such that when locally heated by projection of a hot spot reversibly passes from one state to the other. The local heating is provided by a device having high luminous intensity. The hot spot has great field depth and great width, the dimensions of the hot spot corresponding to an optical luminous density for enabling the passage of the sensitive layer from one state to the other. The hot spot passes on the disc (2) sensitive layer at high speed.
