Abstract
A piezoelectric actuator (2), especially for the needle drive (1) of a textile machine, is controlled by producing a movement of the piezoelectric actuator (2) by means of a voltage pulse (SI). The aim of the invention is to prevent mechanical impact loads of the actuator (2) and resonance effects. To this end, a counter-pulse (GI) of comparatively short pulse duration (t'p) is superimposed on the voltage pulse (SI). A respectively employed pulse generator (10) produces a voltage pulse (GI) which is opposite to the control pulse (SI) after the desired level (U+, U-) and before a final position (M) of the actuator movement is reached.
