Abstract

1. Apparatus for the protection of drinking-water conduits against back-flowing used water, with a stop valve (2) located in the drinking-water conduit (1) upstream of a hydraulic pipe separator (3) and controlling it, the valve (2) having a valve body (14) which is adjustable by means of a double-sided actuatable piston arrangement (15, 16), the actuating side (16') of which directed away from the valve body (14) is selectively connectible by means of a control valve (18) with the drinking-water conduit (1) or with a relief conduit (c) leading to the free atmosphere, whereas the other actuating side (16") can also be subjected to the water-supply pressure, and wherein moreover, between the stop valve (2) and the pipe separator (3), a further relief conduit (e) branches off, which is open when the stop valve (2) is closed, but instead is closed when the stop valve is open, characterized in that the piston arrangement consists of a double-acting single piston (16) with its piston rod (15) carrying the valve body (14), wherein the piston side (16") facing the piston rod (15) is selectively connectible by means of a pilot valve (20) in opposition to the other piston side (16') with the drinking-water conduit (1) and with a relief conduit (f).
