Abstract

A knitting machine, especially a flat-bed knitting machine, has a self-sprung intermediate sinker (26) mounted longitudinally displaceably in a needle channel (10) of a needle bed by means of a control sinker (40) and having a press foot (38). This intermediate sinker acts on an elastically flexible coupling part (16) connected in an articulated manner to a needle (12) at one end and supported on the bottom (14) of the needle channel at the other end and can guide the working foot (24) of the coupling part into the region of the lock parts (23) of the knitting lock plate (22) or move it out of this region. The longitudinally displaceable intermediate sinker (26) is tensioned resiliently between the bottom (14) of the needle channel (10) and the underside (31) of a control-sinker bed (30).
