Abstract

The device in the form of a dispensing pump for automatically filling drinking receptacles (9) with beer and similar beverages to be served with a frothy head is operated by an electronic program-control unit and sensors (33, 34, 36) which detect the presence of a drinking receptacle in a position below the beverage outlet (6) on a conveyor (12), and measure the filling level of the drinking receptacle in the filling position. Successive filling of the drinking vessels in several passes with the same or different partial volumes then takes place until a preset total filling volume is reached, within a fixed total filling time, as a function of control signals of the sensors. In this process, the drinking receptacles are automatically filled in such a way that a frothy head can be produced on the drinking receptacle ready for serving, as is otherwise achieved only with careful tapping by hand of the beverages, in particular beer. <IMAGE>
