Abstract

A program control device for a laundry washing machine comprising a tub, a rotatable drum mounted in the tub and a liquid collecting receptacle communicating with lower and upper portions of the tub via a conduit and an electric recirculation pump (5). The device comprises two pressure switches (1, 2) adapted respectively to determine a minimum liquid level and a maximum liquid level in the tub irrespective of the amount and the liquid absorption capacity of the laundry contained in the drum to thereby permit the execution of "intense" and "gentle" laundry washing programs. The "intense" washing programs, in particular, may be executed by admitting reduced amount of liquid to the tub both for the washing operations proper and for the rinsing operations, with the resultant reduction of the liquid and electric power consumption of the machine.
