Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a p450 enzyme in the genus Nicotiana and a nucleic acid sequence for encoding the p450 enzyme, and a method for modifying a plant phenotype by using the enzyme and nucleic acid sequence. <P>SOLUTION: This method for producing a transgenic plant is provided by linking the nucleic molecule with a promotor functioning in the plant so as to be functional, to form a plant transforming vector, transforming the plant, and then regenerating the transformed plant from transformed plant cells. The method wherein, the nucleic acid molecule is RNA interference orientation, is also provided.
