Abstract

The assembly (1) has an inner package (7) closed by a sealing film (11) and containing a food product (5) to be heated and/or cooked. An outer package (9) has an opening through which the inner package is glided and removed. The outer package is provided with a maintaining unit for maintaining movable lateral flaps (13a) in a closed state until the end of heating by providing confined heating at certain threshold temperature and/or pressure before liberating opening of the flap. The film is covered by a retaining wall (9a) of the outer package. The sealing film is used as a DARFRESH(RTM: vacuum skin package type film). An independent claim is also included for a method for packaging and cooking a food product.
