Abstract

Paper reel end stripping apparatus 1 has a support framework 2 for an endless loop conveyor belt means 3 .The stripping apparatus 1 includes five support rollers R mounted transversely of and just above the conveyor belt means 3 in between opposite pairs of the upright members 2c, 2h; 2d, 2i; 2e, 2j; 2f, 2i; 2g, 2k. The rollers R are freely rotatable about their axes on contact with paper reel ends E being rotated by the conveyor belt means 3. Paper reel ends E can be introduced on to the apparatus 1 laterally of the apparatus and can be simply thrown haphazardly on to the conveyor belt means 3. The rollers R in conjunction with side members 2a, 2b act to bring the paper reel ends into correct position on the apparatus and on the conveyor belt means 3 to automatically strip the remaining paper from the paper reel ends E, while being supported by the support rollers R.
