Abstract
The method involves spreading optical signal into a wave guide (10), where the delaying signal (8) is in the frequency range is superimposed with another signal (9), which has frequency components. The spectral extension of the latter signal corresponds to the bandwidth of the delaying signal. A pulse train (15) is obtained with equidistant duplicates of the delaying signal in the time region and one of the duplicates (16) is extracted. An independent claim is also included for a system for delaying and storing an optical signal.
