Abstract

A drum-type washer includes a water circulation channel (47), which is extended from an opening in a rear side of the washing tub (19), and communicated with a drain space (37) in the downstream of the drain outlet (31). After water is fed to a predetermined water level, the rotating drum (17) starts to be rotated unidirectionally at a predetermined speed greater than the speed during washing, and then water is fed into the washing tub together with detergent. This minimizes the occurrence of accumulation of the detergent in the drain space.
