Abstract
An internal combustion engine 1 includes two cylinders 4 juxtaposed mutually adjacently to each other, two intake pipes 12, and two exhaust pipes 13. Each of the intake pipes 12 is disposed at a position to embrace the two cylinders 4 from either of both sides in a juxtaposed direction of the cylinders. In addition, the exhaust pipes 13 are connected to the cylinders 4 at positions between the intake pipes 12. This allows each of the intake pipes 12 to be held at a position away in either side from the cylinders 4 that serve as a heat source during operation of the engine, specifically, at an outside position with a low ambient temperature. Accordingly, an intake temperature of the internal combustion engine 1 can be reduced, so that detonation or the like can be prevented from occurring for improved drivability and fuel consumption.
