Device for improving the surface appearance of rolled and annealed metal sheets, characterised in that it is formed essentially of one or more cylinders, the radii of which are at most equal to about 75 times the thickness of the metal sheet, and in that it also comprises means for giving the metal sheet a rolling angle on each cylinder of between 10 degrees and 40 degrees, and means for effecting a traction of between 20% and 80% of the elasticity limit of the metal sheet.
