Abstract
Preparation of an optically active saturated aldehyde or alcohol (II) comprises reduction of alpha , beta unsaturated aldehyde (I) with a polypeptide sequence (SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2), or a polypeptide sequence exhibiting at least 80% sequence identity of (SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2), in the presence of an enoate reductase. Preparation of an optically active saturated aldehyde or alcohol of formula (II) comprises reduction of alpha , beta unsaturated aldehyde (I) of formula (R 3>-C(R 2>)=C(R 1>)-CH(=O)) with a polypeptide sequence (SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2) (not defined), or a polypeptide sequence exhibiting at least 80% sequence identity of (SEQ ID NO: 1 or 2), in the presence of a enoate reductase. R 1>, R 2>H or 1-4C-alkyl; and R 3>H or 1-6C alkyl or alkenyl. [Image].
