Abstract

The invention relates to a folding chair (10) comprising a frame (12) on which a seat part (14) can be pivoted about a folding axis (16), between a folded-up idle position and a folded-down seat position. The seat part (14) applied to the chair frame (12) comprises a metal frame (28) interrupted on the front side and comprising two lateral frame parts (30) facing each other and curved in the form of a walking stick, and a connection frame part (32) connecting the two frame parts (30) on the rear side. Axle journals (24) and abutment journals extend laterally outwards from the two frame parts (30) curved in the form of a walking stick. The axle journals (24) define the folding axis (16). The abutment journals (26), together with curved longitudinal slits (22) formed in mounting surface elements (18) of the chair frame (12), define the idle position and the seat position of the seat part (14).
