Abstract
Embodiments of the present invention disclose a method and an apparatus for resetting a concatenated communication device. In the method, the reset of the transmission module in the concatenated communication device is controlled separately through determining the type of a reset command. The logical control module resets the modules of the concatenated communication device except for the transmission module when receiving a hard or soft reset command; the logical control module resets the transmission module of the concatenated communication device when receiving a transmission module reset command. With the method in accordance with embodiments of the present invention, it is guaranteed that the reset of the concatenated communication device not affect the normal operation of the concatenated communication devices on the downstream. Thus, the reliability of the system is improved without increasing the cost of the concatenated communication devices.
