Abstract
A high voltage pulse generator comprises a storage capacitor (1) connected to a high voltage source (4) via feed lines (2,3); a switching unit (5) connected to the capacitor; an inductive resistor (8) connected to the second feed line via a second nodal point (7) arranged between the capacitor and a first nodal point (6); and a diode (9) arranged between the first and second nodal points. The resistor emits a high voltage pulse. Preferred Features: A charge current limiting element (10) is arranged in the first feed line between the high voltage source and the switching unit and is formed as a resistor, an inductive resistor or a combination of both.
