Abstract

The switching bridges for electrical switching devices, especially for contactors, are fitted with a plurality of contact bridges arranged movably in windows, which support contact pieces at their ends and are each positioned under the pressure of respective helical springs. The fitting of such switching bridges with contact bridges and springs must always be carried out by hand. Moreover, the rubbing action of the contact bridges with the walls of the windows causes abrasion, which negatively affects the safety of the contact. With the aim of enabling automatic, rational manufacture of the contact bridges, avoiding abrasion and fundamentally increasing the safety of the contact, it is proposed that each contact spring 8 be formed as a leaf spring convexly curved with respect to the relevant contact bridge 11 that the contact spring have a housing position 7 in the central area, cooperating with continuity of form with the contiguous wall of the window and that the ends 9, 10 of the contact bridge be concavely curved, such that the contact bridge 11 is supported in the longitudinal direction by the contact spring and in the transverse direction by the side walls of the window 2 (figure 1).
