Abstract

1. Screw clamp with a slide rail (10) which bears a rigid bracket (12) comprising a first clamping surface (20, 20') and on which side rail (10) a bearing member (14) with a recess (62) is disposed so as to be longitudinally displaceable and comprises a second clamping surface (22, 22') which is substantially parallel to the first clamping surface (20, 20'), as well as with a carrier bracket (24) which is constructed as a part separate from the bearing member (14), is disposed on the slide rail (10) by means of a guide aperture so as to be longitudinally displaceable, and can be fixed with respect to the slide rail (10) in particular by tilting, and with a threaded spindle (66) applicable against the side of the bearing member (14) facing away from the fixed bracket (12) and held in a threaded bore or the carrier bracket (24), for clamping tightly a workpiece between the first and second clamping surfaces (20, 20' and 22, 22'), characterized in that the bearing member (14) comprises at least two alignment members (34, 36') which, viewed in the longitudinal direction of the slide rail (10), are disposed at a distance from one another and in each case are adjacent to one of the longitudinal edges (16, 18) of the slide rail (10) and are formed in such a way that, during clamping of a workpiece, they can be pressed against these longitudinal edges, but can be displaced along these longitudinal edges (16, 18).
