Abstract

The invention relates to a squeegee, particularly for screen printing, comprising at least one longitudinally extended profiled strip (5) made of a flexible material. The squeegee comprises, in the area of the flexible profiled strip, a squeegee edge (6), which can be placed against a printing screen and which extends in a longitudinal direction, and comprises a lateral edge (9) that extends transversal to said squeegee edge. A reinforcing layer (7, 8) is provided, which is joined to the flexible profiled strip over a large area and which increases the rigidity of the squeegee. The aim of the invention is to create a squeegee which can be advantageously used and which is to be subsequently worked. To this end, the reinforcement (7) is provided with fibers, whereby the fibers consist, at least in part, of carbon fibers and/or synthetic fibers and/or of fibers that have a modulus of elasticity of = 100 GPa and/or a breaking elongation of = 3 %. The squeegee can have an electrical conductivity that is high enough to prevent the occurrence of unwanted spatters during the printing process. A number of reinforcing layers can be provided, and the rear side of the squeegee can be reinforced by a glass-fiber fleece.
