A measuring surface of the sensor is arranged in a first measuring chamber (6a). The inner side of the flat membrane forms a wall of a second measuring chamber (6b). The two measuring chambers are joined via a measuring opening (11). The second measuring chamber is connected to a carrier gas feed line (7) or carrier gas removal line (8). An independent claim is also included for a process for operating a probe.
