Abstract
Process for the preparation of fibres or films comprising polyurethanes and organophilic delaminated functionalized clays, said organophilic delaminated functionalized clays being dispersed in said polyurethane, said process including the following steps: (a) functionalization of one or more lamellar organophilic clays with one or more compounds selected from those having general formula (I) (X-R) n Si(-OR') p (R") m (I) wherein n is from 1 to 3, m is from 0 to 2 and p = 4-n-m with the condition that p ¥ 1; (b) treatment of the functionalized organophilic clay obtained at the end of step (a) with a polyurethane solution in an aprotic polar solvent, thus obtaining a dispersion of said functionalized organophilic clay and the polyurethane added thereto, said treatment being continued until the total, or at least partial, delamination of said functionalized organophilic clay, thus obtaining a dispersion of said functionalized organophilic delaminated clays in polyurethane; (c) spinning or filming of the dispersion of said functionalized organophilic delaminated clays obtained at the end of step (b).
