Abstract

The ejector has a cap (34) that closes a tube (32) above an opening (29) of a tube (28). The tubes and the cap form a baffle zone (38) changing the direction of sand flow. An elastic check valve (42) closes a bore (22) and elastically deforms under the effect of air flow (F) caused due to gravity, for leading the sand towards the opening. The valve is fixed to a base (14) at the level of a tapered wall (22c) of the bore. An independent claim is also included for a sanding nozzle for locomotive comprising a sand ejector.
