Abstract
Production of base body from steel or other material of expansion coefficient at least 10 by hot isostatic pressing of a powder comprising a mixture of powder base materal from optionally alloyed metal and a hard material, e.g. carbides and/or borides where the pure carbide or boride has an expansion coefficient of at least 6 and the powder base material is so selected that after hot pressing the hardness is at least 400 HV1. An independent claim is included for an object with part of its surface coated with a layer of material containing carbide or boride, as described above.
