Abstract

The invention relates to apparatus and a method to allow the user of a first broadcast data receiver (8) to control the operation of a second broadcast data receiver (12) to receive and/or store a selected portion of data. This can be achieved by transmitting control data from the first receiver apparatus (8) which includes a recipient location identification and data to allow the control of the recipient receiver (12) to start and stop receiving the selected portion of data at a time determined by the control data received. The control data can be transmitted directly to the recipient receiver (12) or may first be transmitted to the broadcaster (10) of the data and from which control data the broadcaster (10) can prepare the selected portion of data and transmit the same to the identified recipient receiver (12). <IMAGE>
