Abstract

The invention relates to the provision of an item of upholstered furniture and specifically, the provision of the item of furniture formed from a series of modular units which when joined together, form the item of furniture in the required configuration. The series of modular units are formed at the point of manufacture and then transported as separate units to the location of use, whereupon the modular units can be assembled together to form the item of furniture. The provision of the modular units for transport ensures that more efficient and cost effective transport procedures can be used thereby reducing the cost of transport to the manufacturer, improving the speed of delivery and the efficient receipt of the furniture in a manner which can be easily assembled at the point of use. <IMAGE>
