Abstract
The coaxial connector has an inner conductor (14,16) and an outer conductor (18), the capacitor (20) of the overvoltage protection coupled in series with the inner conductor and having opposing capacitor plates (22,24) coupled to respective inner conductors for the input (10) and output (12) of the connector. The overvoltage protection also employs an inductance provided by an axial coil (26), positioned coaxial to the inner conductor, one coil end coupled to one capacitor plate, the other coil end coupled to the outer conductor.
