Abstract

A method for automatic configuration of a terminal device (10) that has unique first and second identification keys, in which first and second identification keys of the device are determined by a configuration device (12) which then transmits a sign command together with the first identification signal to the identified terminal device, which then transmits a response signal. The method involves monitoring the identification of the identified terminal device in which it is tested that the identified terminal agrees with the terminal device (10) by checking that the terminal device has the second identification code that corresponds to the first identification code. If identification codes agree then the terminal device is configured by the configuration device transmitting configuration data to it.
