Abstract

During partial/low load combined adjustment of a pump piston (5) in an injection pump (2) generates high injection pressure at an injection nozzle (4) set in a crank angle range of -20 degrees to -10 degrees before the top dead center of an engine's piston and in a speed range for the pump piston between 2.5 and 3.5 m/s. With its control edge (6) the pump piston can be twisted 'early' in a feed direction by means of a control rod (15). An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the method of the present invention.
