Abstract
The smoke detector has a housing enclosing a detection chamber (2) which is provided by a replaceable insert, incorporating a smoke sensor (4,5) and an electrical adaption circuit (6). The electronic signal evaluation and alarm activation circuit (3) is contained within the smoke detector housing, with the adaption circuit coupled to it via an interface circuit for transfer of the smoke sensor signals. The housing pref. has a fixed upper part (1) and a removable lower part (9) between which the detection chamber insert is fitted, with the evaluation and alarm activation circuit contained in the lower part.
