Abstract
The setting device consists of an injection setting mechanism, a setting drive (20) and a control unit. The setting drive consists of a translational element (19), an electrical setting member (21) and a position sensor. The setting member has an electric motor (40) which pushes the translational element along a thread (44,45) on which it is self-locking. The position sensor (55) produces a pulse when a shoulder (53) connected to the translational element passes it. There is also a pulse sensor (58) producing counting pulses. The sensors and the motor are connected to the control unit. From the pulses produced, this produces the actual position of the mechanism, compares this with a required position, and from this, produces control signals for the motor.
