Abstract

Safety seat or support belt, especially a work belt, comprises a main belt consisting of a stomach strap (10) and a back strap (12), leg straps (14), and a suspension loop (22) for fixing to a support rope. A leg strap eyelet (20) for fixing a leg strap to the main belt is arranged on each leg strap so that it freely moves along the leg strap. Each leg strap is connected to the main belt via a fixing strap (26). The suspension loop joins together the two leg strap eyelets. Preferred Features: The fixing strap of each leg strap is connected to the stomach strap. Each leg strap has a separate rigid seat shell (28) ergonomically fitting the thigh of the user.
