Abstract
The invention relates to a linear drive (1) comprising a pneumatic cylinder (2), which contains a pneumatic piston system (5) having a hydraulic cylinder (8). A plunger (26), which is fastened to the pneumatic cylinder (2), and a hydraulic piston (28), which drives a drive rod (29), are mounted inside said hydraulic cylinder (8). A space (27) is provided between the plunger (26) and the hydraulic cylinder (8) and the volume thereof varies according to the axial position of the pneumatic piston system (5). The pneumatic piston system (5) comprises a sleeve-like membrane (9) that radially encloses the hydraulic cylinder (8). A hydraulic accumulator (32) is provided between the membrane (9) and the hydraulic cylinder (8) and communicates with the interior (34) of the hydraulic cylinder (8). In order to prevent pneumatic medium from entering the hydraulic medium via the membrane (9), the invention provides that an intermediate layer (38), which encloses the hydraulic accumulator (32), is provided inside the membrane (9), whereby a pneumatic connection (39) applies an evacuating pressure to said intermediate layer (38) which is lower than a pneumatic pressure applied to the exterior of the membrane (9).
