Abstract

The burner assembly has a secondary gas feed (5) which opens into at least one secondary gas lance (3), so that the secondary gas emerges from at least one secondary gas lance (3) at sonic speed. A diaphragm (2) at the secondary gas lance (3) develops the secondary gas flow, at the end of the lance (3). The primary and/or secondary gas is enriched with methane to give a methane content of more than 90 vol%.
