Abstract
The method concerns treatment of metal melts with a process gas (in particular, iron melts with oxygen) by blowing this process gas over given time interval into or onto the melt. The process gas used is cooled to a temp. substantially below the surroundings temp.. The appts. includes a gas lance (L) leading to the process vessel (K), a liq gas storage vessel (1), a heat exchanger unit (4), a liq gas level regulator (5), pressure regulators (6, 8) and a gas delivery line (10).
