Abstract
The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a device forming a silencer (1) or a catalytic converter with a housing, which has an outer wall part (4) and an inner wall part (5). The two wall parts (4, 5) are at the same time connected to one another at least at the ends of the housing and designed in such a way that an intermediate space (16) exists between them, at least in places. This intermediate space (16) is produced, in that between the inner wall part (5) and outer wall part (4) a pressure is generated by means of a substance so as to deflect the one wall part (4, 5) away from the other wall part (4, 5) at least in places. <IMAGE>
