Abstract

The intelligent data card provides access between a data processing terminal and a digital data transmitting telephone network. The card has integrated circuitry with an interface (2), an HDLC module (3) for the control data channel, an HDLC module (4) for a user data channel, a speech module (5) an interrupt module (6) and a timer (7). A control bus and data bus (9) serve to transfer data from the HDLC modules to a computer bus (10) that connects with a personnel computer.
