Abstract

A further improvement in protection is to be attained by a device by means of which the rise of the hazardous gases via the vertical walls (2) of the buildings and lateral egress therefrom is largely prevented. In the vertical wall (2) there is a blocking layer (12) forming, with the blocking system in the floor (1) a continuous block consisting of a material barring a hazardous rising gas, especially radon, which is applied via drillings (13) in a row in the wall (2) terminating in the region of the horizontal blocking system in the floor (1). Protection against the ingress of hazardous gases in buildings erected on ground entailing such a hazard.
